The Nivada Antarctic III
1959-1965
The dress variation known as the Antarctic III is one the very first spin-offs from the original Antarctic as may be seen in the advert of circa 1959/60 shown here. (courtesy of IG @nivadamuseum)
The very first variation is a steel case with straight plain capitalised text. This was closely followed by the wavy script as seen in steel and, rarely, gold cases. There is also a crosshair dial version. Dials have been seen with Aquamatic and Automatic below the Nivada name.
The notable feature is the slim case and thin lugs as opposed to the flat top lugs of the first model.
