7150-1 Longines Super-Compressor Diver
The reference 7150-1 is a splendid tool watch boasting a Super Compressor case that allowed for water resistance to 200 meters.I n the late 1950s, diving watches were all the rage. Longines first released the Skin Diver, and quickly followed it up with a 42mm diver, the reference 7042, which relied on a Super Compressor case. Manufactured by Piquerez, these cases ingeniously relied on underwater pressure to increase their water resistance; this essential innovation proved so efficient that Longines made very few changes to its diver over the next decade. This reference 7150-1 was produced in 1961-1962 and features a few upgrades, including an automatic caliber 290, which offered a higher beat than the former movement 19AS. Its water resistance was also doubled, reaching 200 meters
