The Alsta Nautoscaph and Jaws
Richard Dreyfuss’s oceanographer character, Matt Hooper, wore an automatic dive watch in Steven Spielberg’s 1975 classic, but many years it was hard to work out what make or model. The watch was an Alsta Nautoscaph, made by a company that shuttered during the Quartz Crisis. Hard to find now and very collectible. A holy grail for many.
