Longines Ultronic

Ultronics were the Longines equivalent of the "hummer watches' made by Omega and other Swiss manufacturers fighting a rearguard action in the 1970s against the onslaught of the quartz revolution from the Far East. Huge investment was made in alternatives starting with the Beta21, before it was finally decided some 30 years later that mechanical movements were still preferred by customers.
