The 50th anniversary model version has an amazing nightime glow from the extensive areas of luminova applied to dial and hands. Now becoming collectible, the appeal enhanced by the non-appearance of the Helium valve seen on other Sm300 models of the era. The two-tone bezel has divided enthusiasts but can be replaced by other non-OEM inserts. They are robust travel watches that wear as well on the beach as under a shirt cuff. The flashes of red on hands and dial add to the vintage feel as well as legibility. A functional modern classic.

50th v Great White

Often compared to the Omega Seamaster 'Great White' GMT but there are subtle differences including:

  • Case Brushing
  • Dial thickness - the Great White dial is much thicker and not interchangeable
  • Bezels are not interchangeable with 50th Anniversary

Summary

Often compared with the Omega Seamaster 'Great White' GMT version. There are subtle differences in the models.

Note there is also a solid gold 18k cased blue dial GMT version with rubber strap - ref 2634.80.93 which is very rare.
